Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 6th, 2026

The Justice in Motion tour (the "Tour") is a joint project of Keep Our Republic and Democracy Rising Collaborative (together, "we," "us," or "our"). This website, www.justiceinmotion.us (the "Site"), is operated in connection with the Tour. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Shared Responsibility for Your Information. Keep Our Republic and Democracy Rising Collaborative jointly control the personal information collected through the Site. Information you provide — including contact form submissions and mailing list sign-ups — will be shared between and retained by both organizations, and each organization may use it as described in this policy, including after the Tour concludes. By submitting your information through the Site, you acknowledge that it will be provided to both organizations.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

Contact Form. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This information is transmitted to and stored in our database and/or email systems so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Mailing List. If you opt in to our mailing list, we collect your email address (and name, if provided) to send you newsletters, updates, and other communications from the Tour, Keep Our Republic, and/or Democracy Rising Collaborative. Opting in is voluntary and is not required to use the Site or submit the contact form.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information may be collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for site functionality, security, and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form

  • Send newsletters, event updates, and other communications to mailing list subscribers who have opted in, including communications from Keep Our Republic and Democracy Rising Collaborative individually

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site

  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats

  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Your Information

Between the Partner Organizations. Personal information collected through the Site is shared between Keep Our Republic and Democracy Rising Collaborative. Each organization retains its own copy of the mailing list and contact submissions and may continue to use them in accordance with this policy after the Tour ends. If you wish to be removed from either organization's list, see Section 4.

Service Providers. We use third-party service providers to operate the Site and manage communications, including Squarespace and Mailchimp. These providers process your information on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our organizations, our users, or others.

Organizational Changes. If either organization is involved in a merger, reorganization, or transfer of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except as described above.

4. Email Communications and Your Choices

Every marketing or newsletter email we send will include an unsubscribe link. Because both organizations maintain the mailing list, please note:

  • Unsubscribing from an email sent by one organization removes you from that organization's list.

  • To be removed from both organizations' lists, use the unsubscribe link in each organization's emails, or contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] and request full removal. We will coordinate removal from both lists.

We will process unsubscribe and removal requests promptly in accordance with applicable law.

5. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions and mailing list information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including for each organization's ongoing communications after the Tour concludes, or to comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 7).

6. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your personal information from one or both organizations' records

  • Opt out of marketing communications

  • [IF APPLICABLE UNDER CCPA/CPRA: Know what categories of personal information we collect and how they are used]

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. Requests will be honored by both organizations, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

California Residents. Under California law, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the rights described above. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Visitors from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland. If applicable, Keep Our Republic and Democracy Rising Collaborative act as joint controllers of your personal information. We process your information on the following legal bases: your consent (mailing list), our legitimate interests (responding to inquiries, site operation and security), and compliance with legal obligations. You may direct privacy inquiries to [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] as the designated point of contact for both organizations, and you have the right to withdraw consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.

9. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated through the Site or by email. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
